Chiropractic Adjustment

Chiropractic Adjustments

Dr. Bonnie uses the Diversified technique, which is the chiropractic treatment most patients are familiar with. Using this technique, Dr. Bonnie manually manipulates the spine or other movable joints with low impact, high velocity, movements. This helps realign and restore normal biomechanical functions to the joints, and helps relieve discomfort.
Activator Chiropractic

Activator Chiropractic

An alternative to the traditional manual technique involves the use of a specially calibrated tool called an Activator. This tool delivers a quick, low-force, impulse at targeted points of the body to achieve similar results as manual manipulation. Some patients prefer this technique, as it does not typically result in the popping noise associated with other techniques.
Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic Exercise is generally used for sports injury and accident recovery. But it can also be used to increase strength, balance, and (most importantly) improve posture. At our office we use strengthening bands, free weights, stretching, and the Power Platform™. The goal is to get you back to work or your sports. (AKA get you back in the game of life)

Muscle Therapies

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy

NMT is a form of deep tissue therapy that treats the areas of muscle that are sensitive and feel like "knots", or what we call trigger points. Trigger points cause pain in the muscle and radiating pain down the back, arm, leg, or even up to the skull or jaw.  Neuromuscular therapy is a treatment of the muscles that finds the trigger points and treats them with little, or no, pain.
Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point therapy is another form of deep tissue therapy that was developed by Janet Travell, M.D. The goal of this therapy is to eliminate trigger points (tender points that feel like "knots" in muscles) with deep pressure applied by the thumbs. Sessions are only 15 minutes to a half hour long as the treatment is intense.
Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage

This therapy is a light pressure therapy designed to drain the superficial lymph that can back up after trauma, surgery and illness. It is often used after mastectomies but can be used after any surgery. It can also be used for the puffiness around the neck and face after an allergic response.
Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release is a form of therapy that involves gentle stretching of the superficial fascia. Fascia is the connective tissue that binds and surrounds organs, blood vessels and forms a web of support binding all these structures together. In the musculoskeletal system it surrounds all layers of muscle and provides a firm but flexible wrapping around muscle. If fascia tightens, or is disrupted due to scarring after surgery, injury or tattoos, it can keep muscle layers from gliding properly and cause a change in posture and movement.

Relaxation

Guided Meditation

In Guided Meditation the doctor narrates a relaxing, peaceful scene where you can feel free to "just let go" for 30 to 60 minutes. You are encouraged to record your guided meditation for use at home.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to elicit a sense of relaxation. We place the oils in a "diffuser" to release a scent into the air. Please let us know ahead of time if you have any allergies so we can avoid any reactions.
